Abstract
This publication describes the job activities of the nature guide concerning education and training requirements, fields of application, chances and risks. Proceeding from the concept of sustainable development and the special problem area of tourism, the requirements for the job activities of a nature guide are put in concrete terms and the conclusions for future actions and measures in Austria are drawn.
