Abstract
The aim of this master thesis is to identify the advantages and disadvantages that relate to the use of the actor model. In order to achieve this, the actor model is examined, and its elementary properties are identified. In the next stage, a popular library implementation of the actor model for the Scala programming language is introduced. Building upon this, a real-world example of the actor model is presented by showcasing a software product for corporate management. Finally, based on the presented software, an attempt is made to identify advantages and disadvantages of the actuator model. To this end, a number of hypotheses are derived, which are subsequently argued and generalized with the help of literature sources.
