Abstract
This diploma treats the topic areas of the Austrian Eco-Label for tourism in catering trade
(ÖUZT) as well as the relevant characteristics of credit transactions, particularly by the
changes of Basel II. A certification with the ÖUZT guarantees a high quality standard as well
as the adherence of environmental aspects and the improvement of the economic situation
of an enterprise. Since the regulations of Basel II in 2001, the loan business for banks
changed fundamentally. Nowadays not only quantitative criteria (e.g. balance characteristic
numbers, etc.) are substantial and important for banks for credit transactions, but also qualitative
factors (e.g. management abilities, qualification and training, etc.). Therefore a bank
questioning in Linz should guarantee, if the ÖUZT in catering trade is considered as such a
qualitative criteria of banks with the evaluation of creditworthiness according to the regulations
of Basel II. The empirical analysis brings out significant information about credit transactions
and confirms whether the ÖUZT with its positive effects and advantages as well as
qualitative factors has a substantial influence on loan business or not.
