Abstract

Photocurrent measurements of alkoxy-substituted PPV (donor) - fullerene (PC61BM as acceptor) composites blended into conventional polymers like polystyrene (PS), polyvinylcarbazole (PVK) or polyvinylbenzylchloride (PVBC) are presented in this work. For a use in plastic solar cells the photocurrent-dependency on excitation energy is as well investigated as the dependency on the ratio between the electroactive component and the host material. The behavior of solar cells at the temperature of liquid nitrogen is investigated, too. Free standing films of electroactive componenets embedded in a host polymer (PS) are stretched and the current of stretched and not stretched devices are compared.
