Abstract
Many organisations, in particular the emergency services, are using modern digital services despite the availability of similar extremely stable FM voice transmission systems. Some experts still have doubts about these services even after decades of development. These become clear by comparing similar FM voice transmission and different digital standards.
A paper based strictly on technical calculations permits a clear comparison.
