Abstract
Digital and switching hydraulics were successfully established in the past years in the
scientific community of hydraulic drive technology. Substantial improvement of
efficiency, the possibility of energy recuperation, and a cost reduction compared to
proportional valve techniques are convincing arguments to give attention on such new
technologies. To find their way on market it requires commercially available
components as fast switching- and check- valves, fast response and compact
accumulators, and novel powerful power electronics. To succeed in commercial drive
technology all of these components have to be available as low cost components. In this
work the authors present their most promising developments of components suitable for
digital and switching hydraulics of the last years.
