Abstract
A behavioral model describing the behavior of active
mixers in the linear and the saturation mode of operation is presented. The model allows the simulation of effects caused by high-level blocking signals. A 77-GHz multi-tone signal is used for characterizing the nonlinear behavior of the mixer. Because of the calculation of the nonlinearity in the complex baseband, the mixer behavior can be simulated very efficiently as necessary for the usability in complex radar system simulations.
