Abstract
This contribution deals with preliminary studies for touchless interaction based on capacitive sensor technology. The presented measurement system is able to measure capacitances in a range of a few fF to several pF (e.g., caused by human finger interaction). The main focus is the development of an intelligent shielding strategy in combination with a specific geometry of an electrode array in order to circumvent interference artefacts. This design ensures a rapid prototyping capability and is easily adaptable to different substrate materials.
