Abstract

This thesis deals with the extension of an already productively used tool in software architecture management. The focus is on improving user-friendliness, especially for the main user group, the solution architects. The primary goal is therefore to find out how the tasks of a solution architect can be better supported. The first step was to work out which views are relevant for a solution architect in order to better categorize their tasks. These views serve as the first level for structuring the artifacts and are divided into the respective use cases in a second step. The existing software system was then expanded so that users can structure the artifacts relevant to them in this way. The effects of this new structuring option were evaluated with the help of experiments. For the evaluation, the entire existing data set was imported into the new structure in order to create a real environment for the experiments. The results show, that in most cases the test subjects find the desired artifacts faster and more intuitively than with the original structuring method according to artifact types. This is especially true when the tasks become more complex.
