    Abstract

Suppliers try to comply with Energy Efficiency Obligations (EEO) at the lowest costs possible. International approaches show that the introduction of smart metering systems, and the provision of feedback based on this metering can be a measure in EEO schemes. The purpose of the measure "provision of consumer feedback" from a political-instrumental (additionality) or economic (cost) viewpoint should be presented in this work. A regular web-based or postal consumption information is to be categorized as soft measure. The specific costs of the measure appear attractive for suppliers to comply with the obligation. However, additionality aspects have to be considered carefully.
