Abstract
The present thesis deals with the analysis of the difference between the behavioral willingness and current practices in environmental actions, so called mind-behavior-gap. This gap has been examined with reference to the field of actions in food and mobility. The objective was to get a differentiated view on the mind-behavior-gap and the basis for interventions, against deficient environmental actions.
As shown in the diploma thesis, the key finding with regard to environmentally compatible behavior is, that there is neither a stringent environmentalist, nor a type of consequent environmental ignoramuses. The influencing factors, which determine the environmental behavior are manifold and underly complicated interferences. Within this complex field of tension there are approaches with regard to action theory (e. g. Theory of Planned Behavior) and specific explanatory approaches (e. g. values of a person). Subsequently, environmentally relevant findings and specific explanatory approaches with regard to the mind-behavior-gap – in particular within the field of actions in food and mobility – have been discussed.
