Abstract

In image processing based process control the demand for high speed image acquisition combined with appropriately designed pattern matching algorithms is frequently sought after. We report on the development of an image acquisition and processing system for the inspection with integrated control of the seeding action of a seeder. To increase the crop yield the correct crop dependent density needs to be achieved in rather tight limits. This ultimately demands for a single seed positioning into the soil in appropriately spaced seeded land. For the engineering and development of the single seed process an adequate multi channel high speed visualization tool is absolutely necessary, to visualize the causal dependency between statistical inflow of the seeds into the singling and the resulting ideally uniform and selectably distributed output of seeds.
