Abstract

When exposing a sessile liquid droplet to well-defined and controllable mechanical oscillation, a large variety of effects can be observed that can be used for fluid actuation and the study of interfacial phenomena. Here we present a device that acts as an actuator for driving flow in a sessile droplet of about 60 μl.
