Abstract

In this contribution the various influences on the accuracy of a six-port device are investigated. The actual design operates at 34-36.2 GHz. To achieve a highly accurate phase measurement, attention must be paid to various error sources. As a result of these investigations a highly accurate six-port was designed and applied to a precision distance sensor. The realized six-port exhibits a phase error of three degrees. The overall distance accuracy of the system is ?0.1 mm.
