Abstract
At Johannes Kepler University (JKU), thousands of students encounter difficulties in the
process of planning their academic schedules for each new semester. This issue arises from the absence of university-provided planning tools, forcing students to manually search for courses on the university website and subsequently enter them into their personal calendars avoiding any time conflicts. This process is both time-consuming and prone to errors. To address this issue, we have developed a tool with an interactive user interface that lists available and not yet completed courses and allows students to efficiently create optimized schedules. This solution not only saves students countless hours but also helps them identify and resolve scheduling conflicts early. Consequently, the implementation of this tool ensures a more efficient academic planning experience for students.
