Abstract

In this paper, a novel model for accurately evaluating the performance behaviour of subharmonic selfoscillating mixers (SOM) is presented. This model permits to investigate on the effects of various design parameters of SOMs namely in terms of conversion gain, IF frequency, noise figure, and intermodulation distortion. Such an accurate model is specifically important in the design of millimeter-wave circuits due to their high fabrication costs.
