A Novel Non-Circular Arc Rollgap Model, Designed from the Control Point of View

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference proceedingspeer-review

Abstract

The mathematical models for the temper and thin strip rolling case typically incorporate a detailed description of the elastic work roll deformations. These models, referred to as non-circular arc rollgap models, are either based on the elastic half-space solution or on Jortner's solution. In this contribuion the approximation of the displacement fields by means of the Ritz method is proposed in order to derive an implicit algebraic rollgap model suitable for the simulation and control purpose.
