Abstract

A high precision distance sensor prototype with 0.1 mm accuracy is presented. The RF-part operates in the Ka-Band in the range of 34-36 GHz. Direct frequency measurement and six-port phase measurement at 35 GHz are implemented. The sensor combines the FM-CW principle with a high precision CW mode (interferometer) for highly accurate and unambiguous measurements.
