Abstract

This paper presents circuits for 77 GHz automotive radar applications in SiGe bipolar technology. Key building blocks are presented, including voltage-controlled oscillators, frequency dividers, downconversion mixers and low noise amplifiers. As a next step, the authors present a fully integrated 4-channel FMCW-Radar based transceiver in a SiGe production technology. The second part of the paper outlines future trends in the area of SiGe automotive radar. The latest european research projects in the field are introduced, together with their goals and the impact on future SiGe radar systems.
