Abstract
The aim of the thesis is to show if the travel agencies and organizers take responsibility in saving the environment. The theoretical part deals with the problems of tourism, chances and necessity of pollution control and possible steps. The practical part was done with mystery shopping. It was explored if travel agencies in Upper Austria have environmental friendly offers and if they know the Austrian environmental sign for companies in tourism. Big travel organizers were also explored via internet and brochures.
