Project Details
Description
The main objective of the proposed project is to assess whether the use of video technology in legal proceedings aligns with two fundamental principles of procedural law: finding the truth and the right to defense. Currently, the legal discourse lacks empirical evidence on this matter. Thus, the project aims to close this gap through interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research (Law and Psychology), with two elaborate and realistic experimental studies at its center. By evaluating existing practices in legal proceedings and proposing changes if necessary, the project seeks to contribute to a better understanding of the impact of video technology on procedural fairness and effectiveness in the legal system.
