Description

Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the leading musculoskeletal disorders in the aging population with no long-lasting regenerative treeatment clinically approved. OA has caused a severe socio-economic burden to society with over 300 million people suffering from this condition. In this project we aim to regenerate osteochondral defects resulting from OA by applying an innovative, minimally manipulated tissue derived from clinical waste material on an OA cartilage/bone in-vitro model. Together with our partner we will consider futrue translation into clinics by elaborating the ethical, security-related and regulatory requirements.
