Description
Configuration and installation of components in server-side component models like Enterprise JavaBeans is referred to as deployment. These tasks are usually performed manually by using deployment tools provided by the individual application servers. These manual procedure is not sufficient for certain application scenarios (for example load balancing)
The goal of this project is to build an infrastructure for dynamic deployment of components to application servers. Business components are located in a central component repository or are already installed on an application server and shall be deployed on demand to various application servers.
To automate the deployment process, business components as well as the runtime environment of the application server need to be described, so that the infrastructure built can deploy the components automatically. All components needed by the component to be deployed have to be deployed automatically to the application server, in case they are not yet available.
