Project Details
Description
The project deals with the structural design and the safe operation of double shear lugs in aircrafts. Aims of the project are: (i) Existing design guidelines shall be analyzed, extended and improved and remaining uncertainties shall be reduced by means of the modern possibility of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) technology. (ii) The SHM methods shall already be implemented in the lug manufacturing process and thus contribute to an increase of production quality and and operational safety. (iii) Such SHM methods capable of monitoring double shear lugs online shall be utilized in service applications to reach thus highest safety levels.
