SIMOS - Towards a Multiscale Simulation Scheme for Organic Solar Cells

Project: Funded researchFederal / regional / local authorities

Project Details

Description

In the present project multiscale theories for elementary processes in organic solar cells with fullerene and non-fullerene acceptors are developed and tested against experimental data. The theory of these processes, which include the absorption of light, excitation energy and charge transfer, are combined with a microscopic calculation scheme of the parameters of these theories. Our principal aim is to uncover structure-function relationships that will help to derive design principles for improving the power conversion efficiency of organic solar cells.
