Scheduling 'Eureka' Moments

Project Details

Description

'Eureka' moments refer to situations in which humans have novel ideas and hence show high creativity. Can we design technology that allows users to let their mind wander in order to increase thelikelihood of ‘Eureka’ moments? Through an experimental evaluation and the triangulation ofself-reports and synchronized physiological measures (electroencephalography (EEG) and eyetracking), we seek to answer this question. Our results can have significant novel implicationsfor the design of digital workplaces and contribute to the appreciation of the irreplaceable‘human’ capability to find innovative solutions.
