Project Details

Description

A real time network connecting multiple measurement devices with a central master processing unit (MPU) over distances from 100m to 3000m is to be developed. The response time of 1ms is required. A hub based network topology, allowing to control up to 1000 measuring devices from one single PC measuring station, is projected. A concept verification of the utilized network topology and the used protocolls and an estimation of the technical feasibility on Xilinx FPGA (Spartan 2) technology has to be done first. Subsequently the VHDL implementation of behavioral models, needed for system simulation and requirement verifikation, and synthesizable models, including real time network PCI card and hub devices, is proceeded. After placement & routing the proving is done.
