Prototyping of Distributed Process Controll Software

Project: OtherProject from scientific scope of research unit

Project Details

Description

A software prototype is an executable model that allows users and developers to gain experience with a software system aimed at avoiding errors with the final software product. To ease the prototyping process for software engineers who are responsible for building distributed (real-time) applications, we developed a process model for prototyping of distributed process control systems. Prototyping is an applicable technique only when supported by tools that ease the building of executable prototypes. We describe and examine the prototyping capabilities of the application framework ProcessTalk (see above) and of the tool ProcessBuild, which is based on the application framework.
