Description

The objectives of this multi-firm project are strategies, smart-tools, and guidelines for intelligent, self-optimizing, and self-adaptive polymer extrusion and compounding machineries. We want to develop concepts that allow processing machineries to react on variations of their boundary conditions (e.g., material fluctuation, wear) and adjust the working-point without the need for an operator input. Therefore, the processing machines will need forecast capabilities to predict the processing behavior and the product quality. Additionally, tools have to be developed and implemented to monitor the condition of the machinery, process and product quality. Moreover, it will be critical to gain profound and reliable insights in the physical phenomena’s during processing.
