FabMath: Digital Fabrication in Mathematics Teacher Education in Europe

Project: Funded researchEU - European Union

Project Details

Description

The project develops an online platform providing lesson plans for designing and customizing manipulatives using digital fabrication technologies such as 3D printing.
The platform is designed to be directly usable by teachers across the partner countries while also supporting adaptation to local curricula and classroom needs.
To ensure effective implementation, the project includes a teacher training program and integrates the use of digitally fabricated manipulatives into mathematics teacher education courses at the participating institutions.
Through these measures, the project strengthens teachers’ capacity to design, produce, and use customized physical learning objects that support conceptual understanding in mathematics and aims at connecting teachers to local makerspaces.
