Description

This proposal focuses on understanding the role of mixed alkali cation systems in zeolite crystallization using Hydrated Silicate Ionic Liquids (HSILs). Mixed cations significantly influence both the framework and crystallization kinetics of zeolites, with the cation showing the highest affinity for silicates determining the final structure. Using a multi-diagnostic approach—Impedance Spectroscopy (IS), Small- and Wide-Angle Scattering (SAXS/WAXS), and Raman spectroscopy—the project will investigate how mixed cations impact the self-assembly of aluminosilicates in situ.
