Description
In this project, we intend to develop a systematic procedure for reducing the weight of frames
and moving blankholders in automatic panel benders with high accuracy demands and high
loading levels. So far, frames and blankholders of such machines do represent heavy
structural elements. Replacement by light-weight structures using a rational topologyoptimization
strategy comprises a significant increase in cost- and energy-efficiency.
