Empowering Pre-Service STEM Teachers with AI for Computational Thinking

Project: Funded researchEU - European Union

Project Details

Description

The “STEAiM” project, funded by the European Union (Erasmus+) aims to empower future STEM teachers (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) by integrating computational thinking and artificial intelligence (AI) into teacher education. The goal is to enhance digital skills and innovative teaching methods to meet the demands of the digital age. A hands-on university course will be developed to equip pre-service teachers with the ability to integrate computational thinking into STEM teaching and effectively use AI tools.
Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU) plays a key role in developing and implementing AI-driven teaching tools and disseminating project outcomes. Through international collaboration with partner universities from Slovakia, Spain, Italy, and Portugal, innovative teaching materials and workshops will be created, tested, and evaluated in diverse educational settings. The project also fosters collaboration between educators, researchers, and policymakers to drive long-term changes in teacher education.
