Project Details

Description

The COMET K-project “e-Motion” is a public-private initiative to secure and strengthen the future competitiveness of the Austrian tourism, sport and leisure industries. By defining an information and communication (ICT) research programme to address the complex needs of one of the fastest growing economic sectors globally. Why “e-Motion”? Motion is a synonym for action and mobility, which are core characteristics of the tourism, sport and leisure industries. At the same time, motion is a synonym for progress, which in this context is realised through research and development that enables ever more innovative products in ever-shorter time spans. The “e-“ signifies “electronic” – indicating the ICT-based solutions approach. Finally, e-Motion is a play on the word emotion: Research in the tourism, sport and leisure industries must account for the importance of user emotions in these sectors.
