Description
Currently, the enormous potential of solar and wind energy can just be used with strict limitation because these potentials are located too far away from consumer sites respectively their availability temporally fluctuates. The solar fuel process generates high-energy hydrocarbon from hydrogen, produced by solar and wind power-driven electrolysis and subsequently synthesised with CO2 recovered from the air. In this way, solar and wind energy is converted into chemical bond energy and thus made it storable and transportable. The paper highlights the importance of this innovative energy generation from the energy policy perspective als well as from the climate protection view. .
