Project Details

Description

Coordination is the key concept from technological, service and application view-points on systems in which multiple entities interact. This is currently test bed by the take-up of simple coordination models in products like Jini or .NET and with the challenges of future systems like those designed for Global Computing. European research on coordination models, languages and systems has a long tradition in various parts of computer science and beyond. It has developed excellence in research which is carried by an extensive number of European research groups. This community has developed loose networks that work but do not exploit the full potential of the existing knowledge. This Network of Excellence on Coordination will contribute to establish Europe as the International scientific leader in Information Society technologies. It will integrate the fragmented research throughout Europe in a structured and managed network and to take leadership to establish Coordination as a cross-disciplinary theme.
