Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist eine Evaluation des COOL-Konzepts, das seit 1996 vermehrt in berufsbildenden mittleren und höheren Schulen in Österreich eingesetzt wird. Das Akronym COOL steht für COoperatives, Offenes Lernen und basiert auf den Prinzipien der Daltonplan-Pädagogik (Wahlfreiheit, Kooperation und selbständige Zeiteinteilung im Unterricht), weshalb COOL als eine Schulinnovation mit reformpädagogischen Charakter bezeichnet werden kann (Neuhauser 2005, S. 239).
