Description

The overall objective of the BUDDY project is to develop a repository of relevant tools (accessibility features, apps, assistive technologies, etc.) and an Artificial Intelligence (AI) assisted recommendation system that will help users with cognitive disabilities to gain maximum benefits from online contents and services, addressing a wide range accessibility challenges. The Buddy project is focused on raising awareness and increasing the availability of a growing range of quality tools and functionalities to ensure an independent and inclusive access to online content and services for people with cognitive disabilities. The project will develop a profile-based recommendation system, allowing users (based on their profile or preferences) to get recommendations for suitable features, tools and assistive technologies that would improve the cognitive accessibility of web content. The project will also develop an AI-assisted feature/tool recommender which is able to make educated proposals of features on web pages (including all the situations/challenges mentioned in the call). Buddy will provide a web-based platform where tool providers can present their products and services in an easy to use-manner. In fact, Buddy will be the “one-stop shop” for cognitive accessibility support, which opens possibilities for new products and services to be developed. All end-users with cognitive disabilities and with basic digital skills will be able to benefit from the project result. Moreover, Buddy will be the “one-stop shop” for cognitive accessibility support, which opens possibilities for new products and services to be developed, fostering new market opportunities for SMEs and entrepreneur in the sector. JKU and Funka, as consortium partners, have a long track record of successful experiences in developing accessible solutions for people with cognitive disabilities.
