Body Contour Estimation

Goals: This industrial research project with Schlaraffia - RECTICEL Schlafkomfort GmbH addresses the problem of getting the right sleeping product according to the body shape. The aim of the project was to develop a body classifier. The approach that is used in this project is depth image sensor data as input for body classification algorithms. This contact free body measurement solution is steering the product recommendation for the customer. The research and development effort got integrated into an interactive public display system. Finally the project outcome was a batch production of public display (recommender) systems of this kind. The finished product was delivered in several European countries.
