Battery- and Power-Management for Mobile Devices

Project: Contract researchIndustry project

Project Details

Description

The increasing demand on battery-powered electronic devices like notebooks, smartphones, tablets, ebook-reader, etc., implicates the need of innovative solutions for the power and battery management of these systems. The battery often constitutes the bottleneck in the design of mobile electronic devices. Users expect long operating lifetimes, short charging durations, autonomous power supplies and high energy efficiency at preferably low cost. In parallel to the development of new battery technologies much effort is spent to optimize the utilization of the available cell capacity. For this, high precision estimation approaches for battery-specific parameters are required. A main goal of this project is the investigation and optimization of battery state of charge estimation concepts. In the second part of the project wireless charging techniques for mobile phones shall be developed and optimized together with our project partner.
