"Assistec" - A University Course on Assistive Technologies

Project: Funded researchFederal / regional / local authorities

Project Details

Description

Assistive Technologies (AT) provide a higher grade of autonomy for people with disabilities and elderly in all aspects of their every-day-life. They support a higher quality of life, the chance of social participation and sustainable (re)integration into labour market. In fact, there is a lack of persons being able to offer comprehensive support in choice and accommodation of adequate AT to concerned persons. For that reason the Institute Integriert Studieren at Linz University works on developing a comprehensive AT-training programme. The duration of the university course encompasses four terms. The course “Assistec” will be offered as an online eLearning application with a certain amount of mandatory attendance hours. The course can be referred as in-service training and the course language will be German.
