Project Details
Description
Based on the results of the research project "Rural development in Rwizi Ward/Chegutu District/Zimbabwe" a new technical design of clay stoves will be constructed and tested by a team of experts. The stove will be used for cooking, boiling water for bathing as well, and for keeping food and water warm over a longer time. The design of the stoves must also take into consideration aesthetical and functional aspects as well as the social functions: The stove is the heart of the kitchen(-hut)and the center of communication. A self-reliant and dynamic organisation and the active participation of the population on all levels are further conditions that will help to implement the appropriate technology in the region.
