Description

In Austria a project called ABAk – job hunting for academics with disabilities or chronical illness was initiated in 1999. This kind of work assistance is based on the "peer principle". The staff itself is affected by a disability too and so, in addition to their professional expertise, they use their own experiences as part of their counselling activities. The aim of the project is to help academics with disabilities and/or chronical illnesses finding adequate jobs at the open labour market. ABAk offers intensive, individual and comprehensive counselling of both employees and employers.
