Institute of Business and Vocational Education

The Institute bears the main responsibility for one of the largest degree programs at the Johannes Kepler University, called "Wirtschaftspädagogik" (business and vocational education and training). It is “proof of existence for a functioning practice-oriented and science-based university teacher training in Austria” (National Education Report Austria 2012). The research activities extend beyond business and vocational education into neighboring and basic disciplines. The institute deals with the phenomenon of tacit knowledge, the teaching profession and teacher training as well as a wide range of topics from school pedagogy and the didactics of business education.
