Die infektiologische Expertise innerhalb der Universitätsklinik für Innere Medizin 4 - Pneumologie ist seit 1. September 2023 in der Klinischen Abteilung für Infektiologie gebündelt.
Geleitet wird diese von Univ.-Prof. Dr. Helmut Salzer, MPH. Beim Lehrstuhl für Klinische Infektiologie handelt es sich um eine besondere Professur, die auch Teil des interuniversitären Ignaz Semmelweis Instituts ist, das zum bundesweiten Programm „Uni-Med-Impuls 2030“ gehört.
