Variable Flux Permanent Magnet Machines

Activity: Talk or presentationPoster presentationscience-to-science

Description

This research project explores Variable Flux Permanent Magnet (VFPM) machines, which can dynamically adjust their magnetic field strength for optimal performance under varying conditions. VFPM machines promise improvements in efficiency and operational flexibility over traditional permanent magnet machines. The study addresses challenges in VFPM design, including evaluation and optimization methods, control strategies and thermal management. Through theoretical modeling, simulations, and experiments, the research aims to enhance understanding of VFPM machines.
