Traffic as a challenge of future energy use

Description

Within the energy consuming sectors the development of traffic shows significant weaknesses, namely a high increase of energy input, an extraordinary bondage to fossil oil, a strong increase of CO2-emissions and significant limitations in the substitution of fossil fuels by renewable ones. Facing those sustainability lacks future development perspectives concerning a higher degree of energy efficiency as well as innovative fuels and drives based on renewable energy sources are outlined.
