Description

Recent literature covers the dynamic behavior of pot core assemblies comprising eddy currents in depth. Due to the application as solenoid valves the main focus is on the attraction time and the loss of the actuator is of secondary importance. For lager scale applications the loss of the actuator has a major impact on the performance. Quasi-static magnetic finite element methods (FEM) simulations and a magnetic diffusion network are used to set up the model including eddy current effects. The presented model is suitable for time stepping simulation without the need of FEM simulations at runtime. The loss of the actuator is investigated and reduced by an optimized excitation signal.
