Testing for student orientation - developing an online orientation test for first term university students

Description

As strudnts enter university with varying levels of proficiency in their second languages, the Department of Business Languages of the University of Linz/Austria administers an online orientation test that should help students enter the language courses at the level most suitable for them. By re-testing in paper and offline and correlating test results with grades achieved in first-term courses, this study attempts to establish the reliability of the test scores.
