Description

A procedure for teaching of the design and the implementation of controllers for nonlinear dynamic systems based on physical models is presented. Mechatronic students at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz learn this approach at the end of their specialization in control engineering. This procedure is based on the software tools MATLAB/SIMULINK, MAPLE, as well as on the digital signal processor system DSPACE. The applicability of this approach to practical problems is demonstrated on the laboratory model of a nonlinear dc-to-dc converter, the Cuk-converter
